What is that shining thing in the Sky??

Shhhhh...don't tell anyone but that bright thing in the sky is the S U N !

The last couple of days there has been this super bright shiny thing in the sky. We have never seen such an amazing bright thing. Most folks in this neck of the woods haven't seen it either....at least not since September. This warm thing makes everything better. Moods are better, yard work is better, and even housework is better...just because this thing is here. Mr. Sun, please do not ever go away. And next time, please bring your friend, Mr. 70 degrees with you too.

Too much to do???

A totally lovely (NOT) picture of me going crazy!

Since life is so busy and then throw in the unexpected sick parent, sick child, loss of income, starting a new college class...etc....I thought that I would include this little tidbit that I "stole" from one of my friend's blog. I can totally understand now that it is explained to me so succinctly. Enjoy the following:

Why LDS Women Stress
As Latter Day Saint women, we are practically obsessed with engaging ourselves in good causes. Maybe its subliminal.
Glancing through the hymnal last Sunday I noted that as Sisters in Zion, we who are called to serve, are all enlisted to go marching marching forward because the world has need of willing men, to all press on scattering sunshine. We wonder if we have done any good in the world today because we have been given much and want to do what is right, keep the commandments, press forward with the Saints, choose the right, and put our shoulders to the wheel going where He wants us to go. However, as the morning breaks high on the mountain top, truth reflects upon our senses, and while we still believe that sweet is the work, we also realize that we have work enough to do ere the sun goes down.
And thus we ask Thee ere we part, where can we turn for peace?

Rex is in the hospital again

Rex, my stepdad, was rushed to the ER bright and early this morning. Mom said that he woke her up at 0400 and was heaving trying to breathe. He was struggling so much. Mom called 911 and the cute firemen rushed him to Good Sam Hospital. He was admitted with CHF ( congestive heart failure) and COPD ( Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) . He was admitted to the SCU( special care unit) and as of 4:30 this afternoon, was doing much better. His coloring was decent and he wasn't struggling so hard to breathe. Anyway...for all you praying folks out there, some prayers on Rex's behalf would be great.

Yard Work

Normally I am not one to get excited about yard work, but Saturday was such a glorious sunny day that I couldn't help but get excited about being outside. Our back yard looks a billion times better. We did poo patrol, swept up all the branches ( a billion of them), power blower'd off the back deck, the sports court and moved all the day care toys and organized them. I feel like we really accomplished a lot. Now...if only the sun would come every day. I saw just enough warm sunny days while we were in Mexico that I really want to see more of the sun now. It is like it was just teasing me or something. Spring is my favorite time of the year.

We just got back from a fabulous vacation. We left on January 21st and came back really late on January 31st. We went to Disneyland for a few days with our beloved friends from Brazil. Then we were blessed to go on a cruise to Mexico. We were on the Carnival Splendor and had a FABULOUS time. If ever anyone is thinking of a great vacation....then cruising is the way to go. The food, the fun, the shows, being pampered, having time to nap without worrying about Church callings, phone calls or homework....priceless ! Go on a CRUISE.
