Puking Pregnant

Dave's daughter, Heather, called us this morning and she has been having horrible morning sickness ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT long. I totally feel for her. Poor gal ! There is nothing worse than "worshipping the porcelain god" all the time. I remember when I was pregnant and was throwing up all the time like it was yesterday. She says that she has lost some weight, but that her doctor says that everything is fine.....of course the doctors say everything is fine. They are not the ones puking all the time. So....all of you mothers out there...please give me some of the tried and true things that worked for you to help alleviate those morning sickness barfs. I gave her what worked for me...but I want to help her as much as possible. Thanks...........

Sasha Has Curly Hair

Sasha and her curly hair

Sasha has school pictures today and she wanted to do something different. So, last night she went over to Heather Behm's house and had curlers put in her hair. She had a painful night of sleeping. She discovered that beauty is painful. It was all worth it though. She looks fabulous.

Jayson is dead to the world!

Both Dave and Jayson are at WASHJAM. This is the State wide Boy Scout Jamboree. They are on Ft. Lewis along with about 3,000 other scouts from around Washington. It is neat that it is practically in our very own backyard. It is literally 6 minutes from the house. It looks like Jayson is all tuckered out from all the fun activities. Sasha and I get to go help cook out there on Sunday for lunch and dinner. It should be a lot of fun. I will definitely have some tired and smelly folks when Dave and Jayson come home on Sunday night. Can't wait to see them.

Teenager's are awesome!

L to R: Andrew Smith, Austin Hjelm, Kenny Smith
Kjersten Ness, Sasha Mathison and Spencer Lawrenson

Kjersten Ness and Sasha Mathison
Aren't they beautiful !!

On Monday evening, we were invited over to the Dooley's (friends from church) to attend their kids' birthdays. All four of their children have had birthdays in the last month or so, so they decided to throw a big bash all at once. We all went and had a really nice time. Sasha was there and saw one of her good friends who was visiting from Montana. Kjersten used to be in our ward, but moved away a year or so ago. It was fun seeing all of these great teenagers just lounging around and visiting with each other.

Cousin Andrew visits before being shipped out!

Cousin Andrew here for a visit. He is being transferred
to Virginia for the Coast Guard.

Andrew and Sarah swinging. Andrew, what big
feet you have. LOL

Andrew Hoffman and Sarah Mathison getting ready
to swing on the swings. You would never guess that they aren't 5, would you?

Andrew came over today to have breakfast with Sarah. Andrew is Andrea's nephew. He is getting ready to go to some Coast Guard school in Virginia and leaves on Sunday. Sarah and Andrew have always been super close friends/cousins, so I know it will be hard on them to not be around each other for a while. It was really very nice having him come over this morning. He is such a great young man and I am proud of him for the life of service that he has chose for himself.

Feeding horses

Sasha feeding the horses at Aunt Jean's house in Idaho.

Jayson feeding a horse at Aunt Jean's house too.

I forgot to add these pictures to the blog from when we went to Bonner's Ferry in June. I had forgotten that I took these. I think that they are cute. Jayson does not look too sure of himself as those big lips are inching towards him. It is always nice at Aunt Jean's house.

Last night we celebrated David's 51st birthday. We had a lot of the family over and several friends as well. It is always fun to get together. Instead of cake, we had a huge pan of brownies and ice cream. It was super nummy. I get tired of cake all the time and this was a nice change from the regular birthday fare. I think Dave had a nice day of it and enjoyed the company. Here's to many more.

"Uncle" Harland's Funeral

The VFW getting ready for their 21 gun volley

On Tuesday of this past week, Jayson and I went to north Idaho to attend the funeral of Harland Hylton. He had married my Aunt Lucille. It was great to see all of my relatives again . We left on Tuesday morning at 0530 and came back home the next day at 1:30 in the afternoon. It was a ton of driving. I was super tired when I came back.

Best Friends

Jayson, Mario, and Adam

Isn't this the cutest picture? This is Jayson, Mario and Adam, who have been friends since Kindergarten. I have also done daycare for the two other boys. They are still friends today. They are really nice young people.

Dave's Dad Comes for a Visit

Dave and his dad, LLoyd Mathison

Dave's dad, Lloyd Mathison, came up from Arizona to visit us. His wife Pene is sick so she couldn't come too. Lloyd took us to dinner at Applebee's in Lakewood. It was nummy and was really nice sharing a meal with him. They live in Arizona so we don't get to see them often. The kids were super excited to see him again too.

Dave at Camp Hahobas-Boy Scout Camp

L to R: Ron Hjelm, Ryan Harrington, Malik Serrano, Len Castro, Jonah Hjelm, Heath Dooley, Daniel Tomlinson, and Dave Mathison

This picture just came from Dave this morning. He has been at Boy Scout Camp this whole week. Unfortunately, this week was the hottest week on record in the Puget Sound area since they started keeping record in the 1800's. The boys had a great time and Dave said that he did too, especially when it finally cooled off yesterday. It will be nice to have Dave home again. We really miss him when he is gone. It just isn't the same without him. He will definately get a huge nap when he gets home.
