Church 4 Ward Youth Party

O'Ryan Ethington and Sasha after she was bobbing
for apples. That would explain her soaking wet shirt !
Jayson with shaving cream on his face betting ready
to play a group game where half the group puts the shaving cream on and the
other group throws cheetos in hopes of them sticking to the cream.
Jayson bobbing for apples
Sasha bobbing for apples too!
Last night for Mutual, the youth had four congregations of young people together for a Halloween party. They had homemade root beer floats, games, bobbing for apples, and a ton of candy. The kids all had a great time. I am so glad that the Church gives our teenagers fun places to go that are safe. They always have a great time with their friends.

Sasha's choir concert

A very dark picture of Sasha's choir. She is the small
redhead in the front row with the long hair. Definitely the cute one!

Sasha had her first high school choir concert on Tuesday 10/27/2009. It was at the brand new Performing Arts Center at Lakes High School. It is a great facility. The sound was great. Sasha's choir sang a medley of songs from "Phantom of the Opera". Those are some of my all time favorite songs. They are beautiful and melodic. Sasha did a fabulous job...and I am not just saying that because I am her mother....the girl can really sing.

Fall Decorations

Fall at its finest!

I just wanted a pretty picture of the table centerpiece decorations that are on my dining room table. The flowers are from Sarah...see previous post. The pumpkins and gourds are leftover from a Church Chili cook off that we had a few weeks ago. I love all the gorgeous colors of fall. I look around outside and get all nostalgic and excited about the holidays that are coming up. Anyway....for those of you that live far away, consider this a little fall gift. Enjoy!

Flowers from Sarah

Sarah gave me flowers today !

Sarah came home this morning and gave me flowers. Isn't that great?!!! Last night I received my grades from my midterm exam and guess what???? I received a perfect score. The teacher announced before handing back all the tests that she was going to grade on the curve. I always like it when they grade on the curve. Our teacher assigns us all numbers to put on all of our assignments so that others cannot read our scores and know who they belong to. Anyway....I didn't know at that point that my score was awesome. When she finished handing out the tests, I was shocked that my score totally blew the curve. I was happy and sad all at the same time. There are some other students that really were counting on the curve scale. Bummers. Anyway....I hope that I can do as well on the final as well.

Gorgeous Fall Foliage

A gorgeous tree in Lakewood

There are many reasons why I love fall. Seeing trees like this all over the place is a gigantic reason why Fall is my favorite season. The weather is cool, the kids are back in school, it rains which means that yard work is not a high priority, and the scenery is just amazing. I LOVE FALL ! I hope that you can enjoy the scenery where ever you live. Heavenly Father is so good to us and gives us beauty all around. All we have to do is open our eyes and see.

A Fire is Fantastic

A nice roaring fire on a cold night

I love my wood stove. There are a bunch of reasons why I love a hot fire. First off, I am always freezing cold. Second, they instantly warm my house and make it seem more inviting. Third, I love to see Jayson learning from Dave how to do this "manly" task. Last of all....it keeps me from turning on my thermostat and giving all my money to Puget Sound Energy. I can also hang my laundry on an inside line and they are dry by the morning FOR FREE ! It can't get any better than that. Enjoy the fire and consider yourself invited to sit by the fire anytime. Friends make a fire in the wood stove even better.

Alma....

Dave is dressed up like Alma in the scriptures

More of Dave as Alma

The youth of our church congregation is having a two day youth conference today and tomorrow (Fri/Sat Oct 9 and 10). They are reading the Book of Mormon in two days. The youth leaders have asked several people to dress up as the people they are portraying. Don't ya think Dave looks really fine in his Prophet clothes?

Fall Heater

Daisy is warming her paws to stay warm.

OK...for those of you that know me, you know that I turn off my heater in April and I don't turn it back on until as late as possible in October. Our thermostat is set in the winter to a balmy 62 degrees. That is what sweaters and slippers are for. I do not believe in padding the wallets of Puget Sound Energy. Well, fall is really here and this morning the temp outside was a whopping 36 degrees. I had no choice but to turn on the heater. Daisy has found a perfect spot for warming her paws. It is on the side of my cabinet where the heating vents are. She slides her paws right close to them and they stay toasty warm. I think that Daisy is genius. Such a smart little dog.

Too Busy!

These are the two babies . Aren't they teeny tiny?

Ok....I have not died or gone on a fun vacation. It has been forever since I updated my beloved blog. My daycare business has gotten super busy. On the 21st of September, I started caring for these two beautiful twin baby boys. They are wonderful....but I am exhausted. I also started another quarter of Pierce College on the 23rd....so between the new babies and my new course work....there is hardly time to go potty during the day, and certainly not time for blogging. We are really loving having the new babies. These are the second set of twins that I have cared for since starting daycare a bazillion years ago. I am really looking forward to relaxing this weekend and getting to watch General Conference from the comfort of my own living room. I love technology.
